New Center for Images of the Brain

The University of Missouri Department of Psychological Sciences in the College of Arts and Science will host the dedication of the MU Brain Imaging Center, a large scale, state-of-the-art neuroimaging research facility.

MRI technology in the MU Brain Imaging Center enables researchers to collect behavioral data by producing pictures of the entire body, including the brain. The technology also can capture certain functions, such as brain activity during a mental task and body metabolism.

MU is one of the few academic institutions to have this technology available on campus and accessible to all departments and local industries. MU researchers will use the center to conduct behavioral studies on diseases such as Parkinson’s disease, autism and schizophrenia

Massachusetts Hospitals Improve Quality of Life for Persons with Disabilities

Massachusetts Hospitals Improve Quality of Life Services for People with Disabilities

Hospital administrators and advocates at Massachusetts General Hospital and Brigham and Women’s Hospital have reached an agreement to invest millions of dollars in improving services for people with disabilities and training for their employees. Improvements, such as a scale for weighing people in wheelchairs and accessible exam tables and X-ray machines, will be added. In other cities improvements such as these have been requested through lawsuits. These two hospitals are leaders in the medical field and therefore hope to bring forth change in other institutions as well.

New Medical Equipment for those with Breathing Problems

The Wright Mask  ADVANTAGES:

See www.wrighttrachsolutions.com for more information.

The Wright Mask is custom-designed for tracheostomy patients to diminish discomfort and ensure equal moisturization of the mouth, nose and trach. It offers users and caregivers:
Convenience: The ability to nebulize nose, mouth and trach simultaneously, with one adjustable unit and fewer tubes to get tangled.

Quality of life: Cuts in half the amount of time it takes to nebulize the conventional way, giving you more freedom and more time to spend enjoying all the good things in life.

Cost savings: Avoid costly hospital stays for inpatient nebulizing by doing it regularly at home.

Carbon Footprint : The Wright Mask requires less tubing than conventional masks & one Wright Mask replaces two conventional masks reducing your patient’s carbon footprint in half!

The Wright Mask … Right for you!

The conventional nebulizing process takes 15 steps and two masks.

The Wright nebulizing process takes eight steps and one mask. It’s this simple:

CONVENTIONAL NEBULIZING PROCESS 15-STEPS / TWO-MASKS

WRIGHT NEBULIZING PROCESS 8-STEPS / ONE MASK

Connect the face mask tube to the nebulizing machine Place the face mask over your nose & mouth and place the tracheostomy mask over your tracheostomy stoma
Fill the medicant container Fill medicant container
Place the face mask over your nose and mouth Adjust the dents in mask tubes to fit your face
Adjust head-straps for comfort

Adjust neck straps for comfort
Turn the machine on Connect double-face mask tube to the nebulizing machine
After 30 minutes of nebulizing remove the face mask Turn the machine on
Turn the machine off After 30 minutes of nebulizing the nose, mouth & tracheostomy simultaneously remove masks
Disconnect the face mask hose from the nebulizing machine Turn the machine off
Connect the tracheostomy mask hose to the nebulizing machine
Fill the medicant container
Place the tracheostomy mask over the tracheostomy stoma
Adjust trach mask straps for comfort
Turn machine on
After 30 minutes of nebulizing remove the tracheostomy mask
Turn machine off

Because it is a time-stealer, many trached patients nebulize less than medically required. This puts at risk the health of their airway passages and could impede and threaten their ability to breath.

The Wright Mask cuts in half the energy, effort and time  spent nebulizing.
